Bluefield, WV- The Big Blues are pleased to announce the hiring of Ryan Bailey to be the next Bluefield State College Women's Basketball Coach. Coach Bailey brings over 12 years of coaching experience to Bluefield State College.
Athletic Director John Lewis said, "Bluefield State College is excited to have Ryan Bailey as our new Head Women's Basketball Coach. Ryan has NCAA Division II Head Coaching experience and has a proven record of recruiting quality student-athletes. Under his direction, the Women's Basketball Program will be taken to the next level. Please welcome Ryan Bailey to the BSC Athletic Family."
Coach Bailey comes to Bluefield State after stops and the University of Charleston and Malone University. While the Assistant Coach with the Golden Eagles, Coach Bailey led the women to a Mountain East Championship during the 2014-2015 season. While there, he coached two First Team All-Conference Players and two 1,000-point scorers. After three seasons as the Assistant Coach at the University of Charleston, Coach Bailey went to the GMAC and was the Head Women's Basketball Coach at Malone University. While there, he led his team to impressive on court statistics. In one season, his team had the fewest fouls in a season and fewest fouls per game in that same season. He also brought some offense to the Pioneers, being the in the Top 25 in 3 pointers made and Top 25 in fewest turnovers in all of NCAA DII. In addition, while there, he started a Junior Varsity Women's Basketball Team, which is still successful today.

Of course I also have to thank my wife for her support so that I can continue to follow my dreams of coaching. I am excited to be apart of the BSC Family and look forward to leading a program that the entire Bluefield Community will be proud of on and off the court," said Coach Bailey.
