State College, PA. - Bluefield State College men's golf team played their third tournament at Penn State golf courses, Pennsylvania. The team left the college on the Sunday morning and played their practice round at 3 pm on that day.
The Big Blues finished in the 3rd position in nationals, with a score of 305. This was a 36-hole tournament, but the first day was canceled because of the weather conditions. The winner was Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, with a score of 292 (+4).
Individually, Cristian Galdeano had the best performance finishing in the third position with a round of 71(-1). Junior Franco Di Benedetto shot a round of 73(+1), and finished inside the top 10 for the tournament. Jack Clout had a round of 78(+6), ended up in the 29th position. Wayne Brookman and Jamison Hamm had the same score of 83(11+).
Cristian Galdeano, Franco Di Benedetto, and Wayne Brookman were awarded for their success academically, for having a GPA over 3.5, by receiving Academic All-American Certificates. The Big Blues received a trophy on the closing ceremony for their third place finish as a team.

On Saturday, the golf team is leaving for their fourth tournament, which will be in Williams Golf & Country Club, West Virginia. Go Big Blues!
