On Saturday, October 12, 2019 the men's and women's basketball teams hosted Big Blue Madness to showcase their talents to the community and what they have worked on in the off-season. This year's Big Blue Madness included many different ways to show off both team's skills. There was a 3-point shoot out between 3 players from the women's basketball team and the winner of that round was Kara Sandy who moved onto the second round which was against the winner of the men's 3-point shoot-out which was Brandon Anyanwu. Kara and Brandon then faced each other and Kara came out on top. This is the third year in a row that the women's team have beaten the men's team. Next, the men's team had a dunk contest. Each player that participated did one or two dunks in front of the judges and the winner was Marquez Cooper. Then, the women's and men's basketball team played a blue and white game. The women's team went first, the team was spilt into two teams and played against each other for fifteen minutes. Then it was the men's team turn to play, they also were spilt up into 2 different teams to play against each other for fifteen minutes. The last thing that took place was a half-court shot contest. Coach Bailey picked people out of the stands who wanted to take the shot, if they made it they would receive $50 dollars, sadly no one made the half-court shot.
