Petersburg- VA. The past weekend our men's golf team traveled to Petersburg to play their last tournament of the fall season. They were supposed to have the practice round on Sunday, but this could not happen since the course was closed due to the weather conditions.
The Big Blues played 27 holes on Monday and 9 holes on Tuesday because they were expecting bad weather during the evening for the second day. The winner of the tournament was Fayetteville State with a score of 589(+13). The Bluefield State men's golf had a good performance in their last tournament finishing in the third position with a score of 602(+26).
Individually, we want to congratulate the medalist honor Franco Di Benedetto with a score of 70 (-2) on the first round and a 73(+1) for the second one with a total of 143 (the only player under par for the tournament). T6th with a good performance was Jack Clout with scores of 73(+1) and 76(+4) for a total of 149. Jamison Hamm had two consecutive rounds of 77 with a total of 154. Cristian Galdeano shot a round of 82(+10) the first 18 and had a good come back on the second round with a score of 74(+2). The freshman Tyler Higginbotham had rounds of 92(+20) and 89(+17) with a total of 181.
