The USCAA Headquarters announced today the Spring Academic All-Americans for the sports that the UCSAA does not sponsor a postseason tournament. The Big Blues Men's Tennis Team cleaned house, placing 5 players on the All-Academic Team, most by a single team at Bluefield State College.
The Big Blues visited baseball’s historic Hall of Fame on the way back from the USCAA Small College World Series last week to put a bright spot on what was a little bit of a disappointing end to the World Series for the Big Blues.
The Big Blues played their final game of the USCAA Small College World Series against Cleary University. This game was great for fans who love a lot of runs as both teams offenses put on a show. However, on the last play of the game a controversial bang-bang play at the plate gave the Cougars a walk off 10-9 victory over the Big Blues.
The Bluefield State College Big Blues celebrated their return to postseason baseball with a 10-4 win over Central Penn College in the opening game of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Small College World Series at East Field Park early Monday morning.
Head Men’s Basketball Coach Derrick Price and his coaching staff are pleased to announce Derrick Price’s Inaugural Basketball Camp July 10-13, 2017. Camp staff will include Head Men’s Basketball Coach Derrick Price, Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Rodney Kasey and former and current BSC players.
The Big Blues finished another incredible season today against #14 Azusa Pacific. BSC gave the Cougars a run for their money battling throughout the doubles and singles contests but ultimately fell 5-0.
Tomorrow, the Big Blues continue their NCAA Tournament run against Azusa Pacific after winning a share of the Atlantic Region crown. Azusa Pacific continues their postseason run after winning the West Regional, sharing that title with Hawaii Pacific. This is a battle of ranked opponents as the Big Blues currently sit 37th in the ITA Polls and the Cougars are 14th. The Big Blues and Cougars are scheduled to begin at 12:00 pm EST in Altamonte Springs, FL. Live Stats will be provided.
The Big Blues finally do not have an Interim Coach left on staff with the official hiring of Head Women’s Volleyball and Softball Coach Megan Dillion. Coach Dillion has served as the Interim Head Coach for both sports this past academic year.
The Big Blues went on the road as they wind down their 2017 season against Salem International. The Big Blues were in both games but had 1 bad inning in each game which cost them. Final scores for the double header were 5-3 and 10-4.
BSC’s season came to a close today with a double header against Salem International. Last time the Big Blues faced the Tigers, the Tigers pitching dominated, as they threw a perfect game in game one. This series, the Blues were able to put some balls in play but ultimately came up short, 14-4 & 18-3.
The Big Blues Men’s Program has done it again. For the 6th straight year they have made the Atlantic Regionals as the #1 seed. This year the Big Blues will play the winner of #4 Edinboro and #5 Mercyhurst out of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
The Big Blues traveled to the Virginia Coast this weekend for what was originally a 4 game set against The Apprentice School. Due to some inclement weather projected, the series was limited to 2 games, with the Builders taking both, 5-2 and 2-1.
The Big Blues finished up their up and down season with a loss against rival Bluefield College. Wendy Rudhu, LeAndrea Armbrister and Laura Hernandez played their final matches as a Big Blues. Unfortunately the Rams spoiled the party and beat the Blues 9-0.
