Baseball Loses to Bluefield College

Bluefield, VA- Baseball had their 1st instalment of the Battle of the Bluefield's Bowen Field tonight. The Ram's offense shined in this one and took the 1st of 3 games 13-4.

Through the first three innings it was a back and forth affair with Bluefield College taking a 4-2 lead after 3. Bluefield State was able to claw back and get 2 more runs in the 5th. After the BSC's offense stalled out and Bluefield College's kept going taking on 5 more runs to end the game 13-4.

Brandon Wortkoetter started on the mound for Bluefield State going 3.2 innings, giving up 5 runs on 8 hits. He also record one of the three strike outs Bluefield State had on the night. Coach Hunter went deep in his bench for relief pitching on the night, throwing Addison Meeks, Brandon Chandler, Tanner Muovich and Carson Thigpen.

Offensively, Logan Wriston had a fantastic night for Bluefield State, going 3-4 with 2 RBI's and scoring once himself. Chase Chambers was also effective against the Rams pitching, tallying an RBI and scoring a run himself.
