Blues Comeback Falls Short

Athens, WV- The Big Blues faced off against Concord University for the first time this season. The Big Blues were down early but had a furious comeback that came up short, as BSC lost 9-8.

BSC was down 4-0 after 4 innings but in the 5th is when the Big Blues started making a run back into the game. Starting in the 5th, the Big Blues scored in each inning but came up one run short in the 9th. Bluefield State out hit the Mountain Lions 14 to 8 but could not get out of their own way defensively. The infield had 5 total errors, which lead to 4 runs by Concord.

In an impressive offensive game, all starts register a hit in the game. Logan Wriston was 2-5 with 2 RBI's both coming in the 6th inning. Cole Blocker went 2-4, was hit by a pitch and scored twice. Billy O'Hara also scored twice for the Big Blues, once in the 8th off a 2 RBI single by Peyton Durham.
