Big Blues Set to Play First Home Game This Season

Princeton, WV- The Big Blues finally have their 1st home game of the season against Guilford College at 7:00 pm at Hunnicutt Field in Princeton, WV (home of the Princeton Rays).

Guilford College has really gotten the better of Bluefield State in the last two seasons as your Big Blues have been only able to get 1 run in the two times these teams have faced off in the past 2 seasons.  These teams last played in February with Guilford getting the win, 9-1.

Things to watch:

Peyton Durham is having a fantastic season. He currently has 5 home runs this season which puts him tied for 1st in the USCAA. The last time these two teams took to the diamond, Durham was 2-3 in the game. Drew D'Angelo and Chase Chambers are also players to watch in the game for Bluefield State. D'Angelo currently leads the team in batting average with a .338. Chambers is coming off a big weekend against St. Augustine's where he went 5-15, reaching base in all 4 games.

For Guilford, the thing to watch is their pitching. As a team, their combined ERA is just over a 4.00. However, their season has been streaky for the Quakers. They have had two 5 game win streaks at different times, but currently are on a 6 game losing streak.

The Big Blues offense has been solid all season and they will look to continue that sucess in front of a home crowd for the 1st time all year. First pitch will be at 7:00 pm so come out and watch your Big Blues!
