MBB Picks Up 1st Home Win

Bluefield, WV- The Big Blues win their second straight and three in the last five in a crazy second half against Ohio Valley! BSC took the lead early but Ohio Valley came back in the 1st half and were just down by 5 at the intermission. Then the Big Blues came out and scored early in the second to secure a 76-65 victory over the Fighting Scots.

The Big Blues had four people in double figures. Joshua Windham once again led the way with 22. Windham also had 12 rebounds giving him his second double-double this week. Marcus Richardson also was phenomenal taking the ball to the basket, scoring 15 on the night. Starter Greg Purnell started the game slow came out in the second half on fire. On OVU's opening possession, he stole the ball and took it down for an easy layup. The very next position, he did it again for a real momentum swing! Joseph Adeyemo was the spark off the bench scoring 11 and was 1 rebound short of a double-double.

This game had all sorts of drama in the second half as OVU received three technicals on one play. After all that madness settled, they ended up crawling back in it, as Bluefield State could not make their free throws (18-33 on the night). However, the second half lead that the Big Blues had was too much to overcome and they held on to win 76-65.

The Big Blues next home game will be Monday January 23rd against Tusculum. This game will be the 2nd game of the night as the women play Ohio Valley University at 6:00 pm. Tip for the men will be immediately after.
