Slow Start Hurts BSC

Phillipi, WV- The Big Blues had a mid week road test against Alderson-Broaddus. Well BSC never really got off the bus in the 1st half as the Blues only scored 28 points to AB's 58. In the 2nd half, BSC turned things around but could not overcome the 1st half deficit and lost 96-68.

The Battlers excelled on offense tonight really cutting through BSC's defense. 4 players were in double digits on the night for AB. Dorrell Foster was the team's leading scorer with 16. Malik Bocook was also a factor, scoring 14 points and securing 13 rebounds.

Offense for the Big Blues once again went through Joshua Windham. Windham led all scorers with 23. Josh has now scored 20 or more points in 8 straight games and was a major factor in the 2nd half turn around in tonight's game. Julian Hernandez also scored in the double digits ending the night with 14 points. Seniors James Day and Jamal McCoy were also having productive nights until each of them got into foul trouble, limiting their play in the 2nd half.

The Big Blues have a big home match-up against the 2nd ranked team in the USCAA. BSC plays WV Tech in a rematch from just a few weeks ago. BSC fell 86-74 in the teams first match-up. This game has big USCAA National Championship implications for BSC. Currently the Big Blues sit outside the top 15 in the Coach's Poll, but a win over the 2nd ranked USCAA team would really boost the Big Blues chances of receiving a bid to the USCAA National Championship.
