Big Blues start season 3-0

The men's basketball team has had a very promising start to their season. They began the season with an exhibition game against the cross-town rival, Bluefield College. After a back and forth battle between the two teams, the big blues came away with the victory with a score of 86-77. Marquez Cooper led the team with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals. A newcomer for the big blues, Zhahidi Robinson, came away with 14 points, 2 rebounds and 3 steals. The school then hosted the Big Blue Classic. The first game was against Campbellsville University Somerset. Everyone had a hand in this 120-76 victory. Cooper led the team with 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Saveon Falls was the second leading scorer with 12 points, and 4 rebounds. The next game the big blues defeated Campbellsville University Harrodsburg. Cooper led the way with 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 steals. Coming off the bench, freshman Alex Nunnally contributed 17 point with 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks. The big blues are preparing for their next match up against Concord University on Tuesday, November 12th. The Women's team will play at 6, followed by the men's at 8.
