Cutter Creek Invitational

SNOW HILL, N.C. – Bluefield State men's golf team played their first tournament of the fall season hosted by Barton College, at the Cutter Creek golf club. They left on Sunday the 7th in the morning and play competition rounds on Monday and Tuesday.

Bluefield State shot a two day total of 669 (+93) on the par 72, 7,147- yard course. Unfortunately, it was not the best start for the Blues. Barton shot a 586 (+10) and they took home 1st place honors for the team event.

Individually, the Big Blues were led by junior Franco Di Benedetto. He shot a 73 (+1) the first day and 78 (+6) for the second round to finish in to the 13th position. Cristian Galdeano had rounds of 83 (11+) and 77 (+5), Jamison Hamm had rounds of 93 (+21) and 79 (+7). Wayne Brookman shot a 91(+19) and a 95 (+23) for the second day and our freshman Tyler Higginbotham had rounds of 101 (+29) and a 95 (+23) for the second round.

This weekend the golf team is heading to Davis, West Virginia to play their second tournament of the season. Good luck to the golf team as they compete with the top teams in West Virginia, Go Big Blues!
