  • Men's Tennis Lands 5 Academic All-Americans

    The USCAA Headquarters announced today the Spring Academic All-Americans for the sports that the UCSAA does not sponsor a postseason tournament. The Big Blues Men's Tennis Team cleaned house, placing 5 players on the All-Academic Team, most by a single team at Bluefield State College.

    The Big Blues finished another incredible season today against #14 Azusa Pacific. BSC gave the Cougars a run for their money battling throughout the doubles and singles contests but ultimately fell 5-0.

    Tomorrow, the Big Blues continue their NCAA Tournament run against Azusa Pacific after winning a share of the Atlantic Region crown. Azusa Pacific continues their postseason run after winning the West Regional, sharing that title with Hawaii Pacific. This is a battle of ranked opponents as the Big Blues currently sit 37th in the ITA Polls and the Cougars are 14th. The Big Blues and Cougars are scheduled to begin at 12:00 pm EST in Altamonte Springs, FL. Live Stats will be provided.

    The Big Blue have done it again! For the 6th straight year, Bluefield State wins a share of the Atlantic Region Title. Bluefield State defeated Mercyhurst 5-1 to move on to Altamonte, FL.

    The Big Blues Men’s Program has done it again. For the 6th straight year they have made the Atlantic Regionals as the #1 seed. This year the Big Blues will play the winner of #4 Edinboro and #5 Mercyhurst out of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.

    The Big Blues bounced back from their 1st Regional loss in over 5 years with a win over NYIT in Washington, D.C. The Big Blues finally got 2 points from the doubles competition and then won 4 more singles matches to get a 6-3 overall victory.

    The Big Blues went on the road to Tennessee to face off against King University this weekend. In one of the more highly contested matches in recent weeks, the Big Blues were able to squeak out a 5-4 victory over the Tornado.

    The Big Blues continued their road trip traveling to Greeneville, TN to take on the Pioneers of Tusculum College. BSC had a little easier time with them compared to King, handling the match and winning 6-3.

    The Big Blues faced the number 18 team in the University of North Georgia to end their Spring Break Road Trip for the 2017 season. UNG flexed their muscles in the match winning 7-2.
  • Big Blues Close Out FIT in Two Day Contest
    March 16, 2017
    The Big Blues finish off Florida Tech in a two day affair. After starting the tennis match on Monday the 13th, the Big Blues and the Panthers had to suspend competition for 24 hours due to rain. At the time of the suspension, the match was tied 4-4. The Big Blues played Rollins on the 14th then came back to Florida Tech and finished the match, winning 5-4.
  • Big Blues Handed First Loss of Season

    The Big Blues are in the final stretch of their Spring Break Road Trip, playing the 32nd ranked team in the country in Rollins University. Rollins was able to get a 3-0 lead after the doubles contests and held on for the 7-2 overall victory, handing Bluefield State their 1st loss of the season.

    The Mocs were up 2-1 after the doubles matches but the Big Blues finished strong winning 5 of the 6 singles competitions to win 6-3 overall.

    The Big Blues have now won 80 regional matches in a row with a 9-0 sweep of the West Liberty Hilltoppers. The #1 team in the Atlantic Region continues to roll today and now set their sights on tough competition in Florida.

    The #1 Team in the Atlantic Region was back at it again, this time taking on West Virginia Wesleyan. The Bobcats made the Atlantic Region Tournament last season but ultimately lost in the 1st round before facing Bluefield State. This season the Big Blues got the better of the Bobcats again, winning 7-2.

    The Big Blues Men’s Tennis Team came away with a huge win in Charleston, WV this past Thursday against #31 Southern Indiana. Bluefield State came out and won 2 doubles matches and 6 singles competitions to seal the 7-2 victory over Southern Indiana.

    The Big Blues men's tennis have their 1st real test of the 2017 season with a match-up against 31st ranked Southern Indiana. Bluefield State is currently ranked 41st in the Oracle-ITA Division II Men's Tennis poll.

  • Big Blues Roll in Season Openers

    The 41st Tennis team in NCAA Division II opened up their bid for a 6th straight Atlantic Region Title against regional opponents West Virginia State and the University of Charleston. The Big Blues already looked in mid-season form with a 9-0 win over the Yellow Jackets and an 8-1 victory over the Golden Eagles.
  • Men's Tennis Ranked 41st in National Preseason Poll

    The 2016-17 Oracle/ITA Division II Men’s Collegiate Tennis Rankings were released yesterday at the conclusion of the 2016 Fall Season and the Preseason Rankings for the Spring Season. Your Big Blues are currently ranked 41st after finishing last season 43rd. This 41st ranking puts them 1st in the Atlantic Region in front of Edinboro and Chowan.

    Duo of Pulido and Gud win ITA Regionals and advance to Finals in mid-October, out dueling fellow teammates of Braem and Rudenco for Regional Crown.
