Big Blues Close Out FIT in Two Day Contest

Satellite Beach, FL- The Big Blues finish off Florida Tech in a two day affair. After starting the tennis match on Monday the 13th, the Big Blues and the Panthers had to suspend competition for 24 hours due to rain. At the time of the suspension, the match was tied 4-4. The Big Blues played Rollins on the 14th then came back to Florida Tech and finished the match, winning 5-4.

Just like the Rollins match, the Big Blues came out of the double competition down, this time 2-1. Alexandr Rudenco and Anthony Braem were the lone victors for the Big Blues on the doubles side. But when the singles matches began, BSC turned it around, winning 4 of the 6 matches played.

Anthony Braem and Alexandr Rudenco continued their doubles success with wins on the singles side. Luca Ockernahl also turned things around sweeping his opponent 6-3, 6-3. But in one of the most bizarre finishes in Coach Belt's and FIT's Coach Macom's history, Giorgi Datashvili and FIT's Majed Alshaikh had to finish their match 2 days later because it was suspended originally due to rain. But credit needs to be given to both players for wanting to finish the match. Datashvili finished the final set, winning 6-1 to secure the 5-4 victory for the Big Blues.

BSC plays UNG today. Check back for an update on results of this match once it goes final.
