Bristol, TN- The Big Blues went on the road to Tennessee to face off against King University this weekend. In one of the more highly contested matches in recent weeks, the Big Blues were able to squeak out a 5-4 victory over the Tornado.
What helped the Big Blues this match was coming out of the doubles competition with a 2-1 lead, something they have struggled with at points this season. Anthony Braem and Giorgi Datashvili were able to win 8-5 and Platon Gud and Guillermo Cortez-Lopez were able to win at the #3 doubles.
On the singles side, Alexandr Rudenco and Luca Okernahl were able to bounce back from their doubles defeat and win their singles matches. Rudenco won 6-3, 6-1 whole Ockernahl had a little tougher time, winning 7-6 (7-5) and 6-3. Giorgi Datashivili clintched the victory for the Big Blues winning 7-5, 7-5.
The men finish up their Tennessee road trip with a match against Tusculum College on Saturday.
