Blues Bounce Back with Win Over NYIT

Washington, D.C.- The Big Blues bounced back from their 1st Regional loss in over 5 years with a win over NYIT in Washington, D.C. The Big Blues finally got 2 points from the doubles competition and then won 4 more singles matches to get a 6-3 overall victory.

Anthony Braem and Platon Gud were at the #1 doubles and won 8-3. Gud then had a fight on his hands at the #2 singles match. Gud won in 3 sets, 6-0, 1-6, 6-3.Alexandr Rudenco also won in 3 sets at the #3 singles, 7-6, 4-6, 6-2. Giorgi Datashvili also won in matches that could have gone either way, 7-5, 7-5.

The Big Blues now come home for Senior Day against local rival Bluefield College on Wednesday. The match will be held at the City Courts and the Athletic Department will honor Anthony Braem and Guillermo Cortez-Lopez as they play their final regular season matches for Bluefield State College.
