Louis Belt is in his 9th season as Head Coach for the Bluefield State College Men's and Women's Tennis Teams. He is also the Director of Intramurals and Wellness Programs for the Office Campus Life.
Since taking over the struggling programs in 2007, Coach Belt has built a tradition of success and excellence. He was named WVIAC Coach of the Year in 2010 and 2012 and ITA Atlantic Region Coach of the Year in 2012 and 2014. Coach Belt has also surpassed 100 wins under the Men's Tennis team.
For the past 4 years, the Men's Tennis Team have been ranked #1 in the Atlantic Region won the Atlantic Region Championships (2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015) to go on the NCAA National Championships Round of 16. This past spring of 2015, the Men's Tennis team made history by winning their first ever match at the NCAA National Championships defeating New York Institute of Technology 5-4 to move on to the Round of 8.
Before arriving at Bluefield State Coach Belt was a successful USPTA teaching professional and High School coach for 12 years in Blacksburg, VA.
Coach Belt played varsity tennis for the Virginia Tech Hokies and received his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Coach Belt understands the dedication and sacrifices necessary to be a student-athlete and he works diligently to help his players be the best they can and achieve their dreams on and off the court.
