Salisbury, NC- The 2016 Men's Cross Country season got underway this past weekend when the Big Blues traveled down to Salisbury, NC to run in the Catawba Chick-fil-A Cross Country Invitational. The men had an impressive 1st showing coming in 7th of 10 teams with an average time of 35:17.77 for the 8K.
Juniors Nathaniel Evans and Chris McBride both had strong performances during the race. Evans ran the 8k in 31:49.67 which gave him a 28th place finish in the overall standings. McBride was just over 2 minutes behind him with a 33:54.65 time, good enough for 37th of the 62 runners in the Invitational.
The men are off this weekend before traveling to Roanoke, VA for the Roanoke Invitational on Saturday, September 17th. The men are scheduled to hit the course at 11:15 with the women to start at 10:30.
