Jefferson City, TN- The Big Blues complete their Tennessee road trip with shut out loses to Carson-Newman today. Game 1 saw Bluefield State face another incredible pitching performance by the opponent's ace. This time, Alli Webster threw a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts to beat Bluefield State 8-0. Game 2 was much of the same as the Eagles' Lacie Rinus threw a 1 hitter with 10 strikeouts and won 11-0.
In game one the Big Blues did manage to get on base by a walk and two hit by pitches to break up the perfect game bid. But this was all the offense could do, as the team was unable to get a hit off Webster.
The Big Blues lone hit in game two came from freshman Casey Spencer who singled with 2 outs in the 5th inning. The Big Blues defense was much better in these two games, limiting the errors to just 4 in the double header.
