BSC Gets Blanked by BC

Bluefield, VA- Bluefield State faced off in another Battle of the Bluefield's on the softball diamond. The offensive struggles continue for BSC as they were held scoreless in both games, losing 7-0 & 17-0.

The Big Blues have come a long way since the 1st double header they faced against the Rams. In game 1 the Blues were able to produce outs and get out of jams. Offensively Ashley Rasnake went 1-2 with a walk. Lyndsay Hatfield also played well in game 1, going 2-3 with a double.

Game 2 saw the Big Blues face off against the Rams Ace. Brienna Sparks went a complete game, giving up only 1 hit and 2 walks to 9 strikeouts. The lone hit came in the bottom of the 5th inning when Tanasia Blake hit a shot to the short stop and Blake beat out the throw. Blake was one of only 4 base runners of the game for Bluefield State.

Bluefield State will be back at home on Monday the 10 to face off against Alderson-Broaddus in a double header. Game times are at 2:00 and 4:00 pm at the Bluefield Little League Fields in Bluefield, VA.
