Akron, OH- The USCAA announced their Softball Academic All-Americans for the 2017 season and Bluefield State's very own Emily Day was selected in her 1st year of eligibility.
The sophomore-starting pitcher was the Big Blues ace all season and was in the circle for the Blues only win this season. However, off the diamond, Day is a very successful student athlete, posting a 3.7 Cumulative GPA. Even though Emily is only a sophomore, she has kept up with her classes and scheduled to graduate on time with a degree in Pre-Elementary Education here at Bluefield State College.
Coach Dillion on this award, "It is fantastic to see Emily recognized as an Academic All-American. She truly knows what it means to be a student first and an athlete second and I am very proud of her accomplishments here at Bluefield State College."
