After their exhibition game on Monday night at Bluefield College, the Bluefield State Women's Basketball team will officially open their season Friday afternoon at the USCAA Tipoff Classic versus Alfred State College. It will be a quick turnaround for the ladies as they will play again Saturday afternoon for their second game of the classic versus Campbellsville-Harrodsburg.
Alfred State is coming off a 9-13, 2017-2018 campaign and will also be opening their season with the Friday afternoon slated game. Fun fact for the game is that Coach Bailey has faced Coach Boyd (Head Coach at Alfred State) head to head 13 times in his coaching career.
The Big Blues will host their Mercer County rivals, Concord University in their home opener on Tuesday, November 13, with a scheduled tip at 6:00 p.m. The women will once again travel to Rio Grande, Ohio to take part in the Bevo Francis Classic on Nov. 16 and 17.
On November 20, the ladies will take to the floor for their second exhibition game of the season in Huntington, WV. This time it will be against NCAA Division I opponent Marshall University. Game time is set for 1:00.
Some of the more notable games during the season not already aforementioned will be highlighted with a trip south in December to take on Florida Southern University and Johnson University. All Alumnae are invited back to be recognized on Saturday, February 2 as the women host Stratford University. The program will also recognize their lone senior on Saturday, February 16 when they take to the court against Salem University. Scheduled tip for both games in 2:00 p.m.
