On Day two of the 1st Annual USCAA Tip-Off Classic at Penn State Fayette the Big Blues women's basketball team took on Campbellsville-Harrodsburg and walked away with a hard fought 79-71 victory to start their season 2-0.
After leading 38-30 at the half, the ladies found themselves in an old fashioned prized fight as the teams battled each other toe to toe for the next 20 minutes. Campbellsville started the second half scoring with a an 8-0 run, but neither team could pull away from the other until the Big Blues were able to put together a 9-0 run in just a little over a minute span in the 4th quarter to seal the victory.
Freshman guard Kara Sandy again led the way with 27 points, while the only other Big Blue in double digit scoring was fellow freshman Kylah Webb with 10 points. The bench did their part on day two as well, contributing 29 points.
The women will take to the hardwood again for their home opener on Tuesday night versus cross county rival Concord University. Scheduled tip is slated for 6:00 p.m.
