Big Blues Wrap Up Season with a Win

Salem, WV- The Big Blues finish out the season breaking out the brooms over Salem International winning 3-0 yesterday and completing a season sweep of the Tigers. Each game was close but Bluefield State held off runs by the Tigers in each set, winning 25-19, 25-19 & 25-20. The Ladies finished their 2016 season 10-12 and send the Seniors out on a high note with an impressive win.

Senior Tyann Thomas was 2nd on the team in kills for the game with 9. Thomas was also a leader on the defensive end, ending with 5 digs T-2nd for the game. Senior Tanasia Blake was also solid defensively, having 2 bocks for the game. Blake will dive right into basketball season now as a dual sport athlete. LeAndrea Amrbrister also finished out her career here at Bluefield State by tallying another 26 Assists to end the game.

Wendy Rudhu and Laura Hernandez also got valuable playing time in their last game of the season. Both Rudhu and Hernandez will finish out their senior year at Bluefield State on the tennis courts this spring.

Big Blues 1st year Head Coach Megan Dillion said, "This season had its ups and downs but I was truly honored to coach these young ladies. I am glad the six seniors on the team finished their career with a win and I cannot wait to see what they do in their professional careers."
