This week's Female Athlete of the Week is Jessie Rehwald, who is a two-sport athlete on the Volleyball and Women's Cross Country teams. Rehwald is a 5'7" Sophomore from Nelson, British Columbia, Canada. She plays outside hitter and libero for the volleyball team.
This past week, on Friday, Oct. 9th, the Women's Cross Country team ran in the Livingstone College Invitational. Rehwald finished 15th overall with a time of 24:01 to help her team to a 2nd place victory, the team's combined time was 118:07.
On Saturday, Oct. 10th, the team competed at the Concord University Invitational in Pipestem State Park in Pipestem, W.Va. Rehwald finished 17th with a time of 24:41.6 and helping her team to a 3rd place finish.
Rehwald came back to campus and competed in 2 matches with the Volleyball team, who was hosting a Tri-Match with Bluefield College and Ohio Christian University. During the 2 matches Rehwald combined for 15 digs and 7 serving aces, while playing in all 7 sets. The Lady Blues went 2-0 on the day and are currently on an 8-game winning streak and have a 12-4 record on the season.
